chimney brushes and chimney cleaning?
i have a 6" double wall stove pipe and 6" stainless chimney that i need to clean out. should i get a nylon / polypropylene brush or a metal brush?
and should i slide out my woodburner from under the stove pipe and just scrub the whole thing out...or should i take it down in sections?
but i dont want to take apart the chimney portion. so i could clean the chimney as is and clean the stove pipe as a section i'd have taken down.

and whats the best thing to do with the pile of creosote?
bon fire it? use it as charcol? ??
Okay, I'm no expert, but here is what I do. I installed a wood burning boiler in my house 8 years ago. I definitely use a steel brush on the flue. I brush it several times during the season, and let the creosote stay in the bottom of the boiler and let it burn off next time I lite the fire. If you have a big pile of creosote, then you need to clean more often. It works for me, so I hope this helps.
