Loads on a simple circuit?

For a part of my science fair project, I need to construct simple circuits that MUST have AA batteries as the power source. OTHER THAN LIGHT BULBS, I can't think of any loads that can be powered by these little batteries. Any ideas?

I've already got two -- a hand-held mini fan and an alarm clock.

Also, the load should have a "physical after-effect" (the fan blows air, and the alarm clock vibrates)

You are doing pretty good with those loads. Different size light bulbs, LEDs (but you need series resistors)...

"simple circuits" I think rules out the alarm clock. or a radio or a remote control.
