Arai XD3 Helmet

Just as dual-sport motorcycles have hybrid features that make them capable on the street and in the dirt, Arai’s XD3 helmet attempts to give you the best of both worlds. XD stands for “crossover design” and the 3 indicates its third generation of development. 

The Arai XD3 is where dirt and street riding meet, in a single, versatile helmet.   Designed with its wearer in mind, the Arai XD3 offers unparalleled ventilation features with controls for improved rider comfort.

Overall, this helmet is perfect for the motorcycle enthusiast that has many different riding interests. At a glance, the Arai XD3 may look like a dirt helmet – with its protruding chin bar and room for goggles; but the XD also features a full face shield.  There are four top vents with dual intake/dual exhaust ventilation.   

The Arai XD3 dirt helmets are available in a virtual rainbow of trendy colors from Black Frost and Diamond Black to Luster Blue, Silver, Orange, Red and White, among others. It is designed from a CLC (Complex Laminate Construction) shell fiberglass composite that is stronger while being lighter – allowing for greater use of softer, less dense, liner materials for increased rider satisfaction.

This helmet has emergency release cheek pads designed specifically for MX and off-road motorcycle helmets.  

The Arai Company offers a full 5-year, limited warranty on the Arai XD3.  The helmets made by Arai are 100% handmade and go through three, separate, quality control inspections before being signed by workers taking full pride and care in their part of helmet production.

Arai XD-3 Helmet Features

Re-Designed Peak: One of the keys to the original XD’s uniqueness was Arai’s Twin-Cam Shield Pivot System that enables the shield to operate fully beneath the mounted peak without protruding. The shield stays low when it’s raised, allowing the peak to be mounted lower, resulting in better aerodynamics and a better appearance. The shield system is also designed for the shield to be used in combination with the peak, alone without the peak, or with the peak and no shield, as desired.

Rounded Chinbar: Like the Arai VX Pro Series, the XD3 has a unique rounded chinbar shape with less protrusion, making it potentially less likely than a sharply-pointed chinbar to catch and dig in during a spill. The oval form is based on the egg, long known for its extremely-strong and effcient, natural shape. 

Ventilation: The Arai XD3 ’s ventilation combines the best of both worlds, with a total of 5 intake and 7 exhaust vents. Its features include Arai’s diffuser ventilation design frst introduced on the RX-7 series road racing helmets – and now arguably Arai’s most copied feature. It also uses the front vents from our Profle model, again designed for increased air intake, while retaining the original XD’s mouth-vent system that can either provide fresh air around the mouth area, or direct the air upward along the interior surface of the faceshield to help prevent fogging. There are vent controls both inside and outside the chinvent.

Emergency Cheek-Pad Release System:  Developed to allow easier access to an injured rider, the XD3 ’s cheek-pads slide out easily via the integrated pull- tabs built into the underside of the cheek-pad - which makes helmet removal much easier for trained medical technicians.

We wear helmets primarily for safety. The helmet is supposed to take the hit rather than our noggin.

I was looking for a buell blast pro series air filter the old style that buell doesent sell anymore. does anyone know were i can find one at.
(not the cone shaped one)

Retired Navy SEAL Deploys To Coral Gables Senior High (Miami Herald)

Retired Navy SEAL Cmdr. Vic Hyder was deployed in over 70 countries in his 20
years of service, conducting special operations from the jungles of Colombia
to the war zone of Iraq to the ruins of Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

The Coral Gables resident recently swooped into youth territory of Coral
Gables Senior High School to share experiences from his Naval Special Warfare
career and field questions from students on their lunch break.

Through the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Mr. Hyder spoke as part of the
school's Pro-Chat series led by student activities director Ana Suarez where
professionals speak with youth about their careers.

Mr. Hyder, 43, found enduring satisfaction in leading life-saving security,
training and rescue missions for the United States as an officer in the SEALS,
a Navy special operations force of 2,500 on sea, air and land founded 50
years.

Career highlights included coordinating combat operations for a task force in
Iraq, providing security for its interim president, and leading a team hunting
war criminals in Bosnia.
